It's not actually called the Golden Compass. It's original name is Northern Lights. Its part of the Phillip Pullman trilogy. But yeah you should read it, its sooo goood. The movie was completly crap compared.

I finally finished reading Invisible Man - God, was that ever a slow read - and can now move on to other reading! Yay! I'm now finishing Rose Daughter, and then it's on to The Glass Castle, for Book Club [of which I'm president, so I kind of have to read our book choices, lol].

And tonight I just bought an anthology of H.P. Lovecraft short stories, that I'm going to read in between things, whenever I get time. :] Even Lovecraft's life story is interesting!

I don't know if reading comic books count but I have over 70 (including graphic novels) so I'm not going to go through all of them but lately i am reading the Civil War issues, Superman: New Krypton, X-Force/Cable: Messiah War, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, Spider-Man and Uncanny X-Men

I've always wanted to read all of the X-Men and Catwoman comics, but I've never known where to start. I wish someone would organize them all and bind them together in one big graphic novel! As it is, I've only really read Watchmen and V for Vendetta, because they're bound together neatly, all organized, so I know I'm not missing anything or reading it out of order, lol.

Finished The Shadow Queen last night, and much as I want to start the books I picked up at the convention today, I also want to start on The Luxe.. Because it's been sitting there staring at me, and I'm feeling guilty, lol! A bit of fluff reading, before I dive into another Robin McKinley book. :]

so I went to the library today because it was a lovely day. and I got "Light in August" and "A Collection of Stories" both by Faulkner. I haven't started reading "Light in August" yet, but I read several of the short stories whilst lying in the grass under a tree today. it was very enjoyable.
for anyone whose read Faulkner, I recommend seeing if he has any short stories using the characters in said book. There were a couple short stories I read about the Compsons (the characters in "The Sound and the Fury") that I thought were really interesting. 1, because both of them were from Quentin's point of view, and 2, neither of them mention Benjy. (given the ages of the children, I'm pretty sure that's because he wasn't born yet, but I'd have to go back and re-read Benjy's section of "The Sound and the Fury" to try and decode how much younger than the others he is...)
...and of course, none of you probably even care about any of that. so I'm sorry to bore you....(but I do recommend Faulkner. If you like reading complicated books, that is.)

Othello, Clytemnestra 2.0, Romeo and Juliet, and End Game.
You'll soon realize I only have time to read plays nowadays (usually the ones that I'm doing). Ha.

I love Othello. (Well, I love any and all Shakespeare, technically) have you read/done Titus Andronicus? that's my favorite...(odd favorite, I know.)

I have actually. And my best friend (at least here) was doing a Titus monologue here at school so I got a little reprise.
It is rather dark so it is an 'odd' favorite.
