Personality: Without the drugs that cloud his judgement, Charlie is a pretty fun loving guy. He likes to have fun, and talk, he enjoys a drink and is into just general playful mischief. He likes to joke about things to make situations a little less serious, he doesn't like to feel weighed down with the heavy topics of conversation.

Before the heroin, Charlie was quite the honest man. He didn't like what Heroin did to his brother and would have done anything for him to stop taking it. During his addiction to drugs, he didn't believe in anything, he lied, stole and hated. His true passion for music was thrown out the window as his life then revolved around drugs and how to find the money to pay for his habit. But before and after the drugs Charlie believed in all the pure things in life, love, magic, truth, etc.

He has a rather addictive personality. It started with music. Once he got a taste of the creativity, he was addicted. He was addicted to Heroin when his brother had influenced it upon him, and also became addicted to women when he was under the use drugs, that isn’t to say he doesn’t like the ladies when he’s straight because he does. When he has his head screwed on right, Charlie can do good things. On the island when he is with Claire he is able to forget the world and have it just be the two of them.

Charlie can be serious when it comes down to it.

History: Charlie was born and raised in Manchester, England. As a kid he was a devout Catholic, and served as an altar boy in a church. At around the age of eight his mother gave him a piano for Christmas as she could see that he had special musical talents.


When he was old enough, Charlie and his brother Liam formed the band Drive Shaft, writing the music for it on his piano. Drive Shaft quickly became a one hit wonder band, with the song “You All Everybody.” The pressure of stardom consumed Liam, who turned to heroin Charlie opposed this rather harshly. During time, the stress of being in Drive Shaft eventually got to Charlie too, and he also tried heroin, to which he formed an addiction to quite fast.

Because of Liam, Drive Shaft's lead singer, the band began to lose its magic. They even tried to earn some money by advertising Butties Diapers, with their new version for the hit song "You All Everybody", which became "You All Every Butties". This attempt failed because of Liam.

Back at his apartment, Charlie showed Liam their last chance to bring their band back to life through a song he wrote, called "Saved". Although Liam liked it, and believed they could make it, he could not resist heroin. After a short while Liam sold Charlie's piano for money to get a ticket to Australia, where there was a rehabilitation clinic where he could turn his life around and his wife was threatening to leave him if he didn't. With Liam gone, Drive Shaft ceased to exist.

Years after Drive Shaft's fall, Charlie flew to Sydney to try and convinced Liam, who was now living happily with his wife and children, to reform the band. Liam refused and instead, offered to house Charlie while he attempted to end his drug addiction. Charlie scoffed at this and bought himself a plane ticket for seat 29C aboard a flight to Los Angeles, USA.
