-----------------------------------EVANGELINE McKINLEY----------------------------------- friends, Evangeline needs some friends! This island will seem very small without some people to hang with, and someone to watch her back.
Evey can be pretty distant sometimes, and doesn't normally open up that easily, but she can be friendly enough. She's thoughtful, and tends to make friends easily, though she might not always be very forthright with them about her true thoughts and feelings. She is quite compassionate, and worries about others.
enemies, I'm totally open to the idea of Evey having an enemy or rival, or even a few of them!
It's understandable that Evey might have some enemies, because she can be very opinionated and stubborn. When she gets pissed off, she will hold a grudge for quite a while, and can have a very sharp tongue.
lovers, I would love to see Evey get a love interest, or maybe even two - a love triangle would be so fun!
A very passionate person, Evey has never had a very serious relationship before, only having a couple of boyfriends, and only for a few months at a time.
other, It might be interesting to have someone on the island be an old friend of her deceased sister, Emma! Maybe they know what happened to her, or maybe they are as of yet uninformed. Either way, plotting = yay!

(first of all I love your custom title. I assume it came from "Arsenic and Old Lace", right? hilarious play...)
anyway. I'm not too sure what Evey's thoughts on being friends with someone 8ish/9ish years younger than her, but I think she and Emmeline could get along decently. Not sure what Evey's reaction to her name would be, simply because of Evey's late sister also called Emma... anything you have is more than welcome. They both seem to have been very good in school, both graduating early at the top of their classes... Oh, and Em would probably look up to Evey since she's a doctor and Em's planning to go to med school... None of that was particularly brilliant, and for that I'm sorry, but I thought I'd just throw Emma out there since like you said: plots=yay. [/blockquote]

[Hee, yep, the play is what inspired the name. A friend of mine was in a production of it.]
Yes, this all sounds good! I think Emma and Evangeline would get on well, once Evey got past the minor angst of having to call someone else "Emma". :] As Emma seems to be like a very mature young woman, Evey would probably be open to being friends with her, and would especially respect her for her double major and her ambition to be a doctor. They could have a sort of friends & mentor situation going on, though it would be a while before Evey actually admitted that she'd had her medical license revoked.
