Melinda is a kind and outgoing kind of girl she always likes to see the best in people and often puts her trust in those who she shouldn't and has learned that the hard way. She is also witty and sarcastic and sometimes cannot act serious enough as she takes things so lightly.
Despite her friendly and outgoing manor she can be harsh and bitchy at times if you get on the wrong side of her and one of her values is her friends and family if you upset them in anyway she is not happy.

Melinda was born to Jeremy and Anna Harper, a couple who met and fell in love in Los Angeles California they quickly married and wanted to start a family so they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where they were blessed with a son almost a year and a half after moving. They both wanted a girl too so they tried for another baby but had problems conceiving so they had treatments and found that almost two and half years after the birth of their son Braden they were blessed with twins a boy and girl to be named Matthew and Melinda.
Growing up in Arizona was not always easy for Melinda as her mom was a school teacher at her school and her father was a police officer. Not being able to get into any kid of trouble really the rebellion didn't actually start until she was seventeen when she dropped out of school in her junior year to marry who she thought was her soul mate Dean Harrison, they moved into together in Phoenix and although her parents isolated her from their lives she only really missed her dad with whom she had always been very close with and her twin brother.
Her marriage was starting to fall apart after she felt lust after Dean's brother Kyle. Although not ready to throw away her marriage for Kyle she tried to keep her distance until Dean was out of town, he had gone away to stay with his parents by the beach and Dean asked Kyle to stay in their apartment and look after Melinda. But after a few too many tequila's they ended up in bed together, Kyle felt he was in love with her and told her but Melinda told him she loved neither Dean or Kyle and was just confused. After Dean found out he told Melinda to pack up her things and go he would be filling for divorce. So Melinda who was now twenty three and hadn't seen her family in nine years went to her parents house to find they wanted nothing to do with her but found out that her twin brother Matthew had moved out to Australia.
She went to visit him in Australia to find that he had tried to get in contact with her so many times after she left but Dean had kept that from her trying to make amends with her brother he told her she had her chance and he had moved on and didn't even consider her a sister any more. Tired, hungry, upset and feeling alone she got on a flight back to America, to Los Angeles.
