Ana-Lucia is hot-headed and very stubborn, she believes she is right most of the time. She is very strict, but she has a huge weakspot for children. She can be a bully and annoying sometimes. She's also very suspicious of people, but everything she does is for the good of others.

History:
Ana Lucia Cortez was born in 1975 to Teresa Cortez and an unknown father in Los Angeles, CA. She was raised by her mother, a police captain, and would eventually join her mother's force. She was raised speaking both English and Spanish, often speaking in both languages to her mother.
She joined the LAPD, but was forced to take some time away from the force when she was injured on a case. She was shot when a man named Jason McCormack tricked her into letting him reach for his student ID. He reached for his gun instead and shot Ana Lucia 4 times in the abdomen. Ana Lucia survived but had to deal with the loss of her unborn child which was hit with the bullets, ironically protecting Ana.
After four months of therapy, her therapist allowed her to go back to work. At first her mother wanted to put her behind a desk, thinking she wasn't capable of going out yet, but Ana guilted her into it. She ended up pulling her gun out at a guy who was fighting with his girlfriend while the girl held a little baby.
They caught the guy who shot her but she refused to identify him, saying that he 'wasn't the guy'. Later she met him at a bar where she followed him out to the parking lot and killed him the same way he had killed her child. She quit the force and ended up as a security guard at an airport.
There she met a guy named Christian (Jack's father) and he convinced her to follow him to Australia to be his bodyguard. They split up while over there and Ana decided to return home.
