The Dark races (Vampires, Therianthropes (were-creatures), Devils, Demons) have launched an attack on humanity - and lost. The humans adapted, crafted new technology, and managed to suppress the Darks - who are now attractively called the Abnormals.
The abnormals are enslaved and unhappy about it (obviously). The humans grow increasingly drawn into their own technology, and society is beginning to crumble... And there are people noticing.
